One-day Workshop on “Fundamentals of Linux Administration” on 22nd April 2025
The Department of Computer Applications organized a one-day workshop on “Fundamentals of Linux Administration” on 22nd April 2025. The session was conducted in the Cyber Security Lab of the department from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Mr. S. Marimuthu, Server Administrator at F S India Solar Ventures Private Limited, Chennai, served as the resource person for the workshop. He delivered an insightful session with the topics related to Linux virtual machines and monitoring tools.
The workshop was attended by II-year BCA students specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Data Science, who have opted for Linux as an elective. A total of nearly 50 students actively participated in the session. The session provided the participants with valuable knowledge and practical exposure, enhancing their understanding of server administration and guiding them toward potential career opportunities in the field.
Hands on Session on “Python Language Tool Kit”
Hands on Session on “Python Language Tool Kit” NLTK is a premier platform for developing Python applications that process human language data, offering intuitive interfaces to numerous corpora and lexical resources, as well as a range of text processing libraries for tasks like classification, were held on 17th April 2025, during from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The Department of Computer Applications, School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences organized the event.
The Resource person of this hands on Session was, Ms.Jasmine, Natural Language Expert, Department of Information Science, Anna University. The hands on Session was attended by UG second year BCA and B.Sc (Computer Science) Students of the department. The hands on Session aim to equip participants with the knowledge to Tokenization, Stop words removal, Stemming, Lemmatization and Sentiment analysis.

Polymer Engineering Across Borders: A Global Alumni Webinar – Series 4 on “Role of Polymers in Modern Building Construction” by Mr. Mahmood Ali Ismail, Senior Technical Sales Engineer, FOSROC Constructive Solution Division, Boodai Trading Company Ltd, W.L.L., Kuwait – 11th April 2025. Mr. Mahmood Ali Ismail shared valuable insights into the use of polymer-based materials in the construction industry. The talk also covered the practical challenges and innovations shaping the future of polymer applications in constructions.

Polymer Engineering Across Borders: A Global Alumni Webinar – Series 3 on “Polymer Membranes for Gas Separations” by Dr. Mohamed Aejaz Kolmangadi, Head of Thermal Analysis at Covestro, Germany – 19th March 2025. This webinar highlighted the significance of gas separation processes, the role of polymer membranes in gas separation, and the challenges associated with the development and implementation.
Workshop on “Modern Trends in Chemical Sciences”
The Department of Chemistry, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute Of Science and Technology, Chennai organized the Science Academies’ funded Lecture Workshop on “Modern Trends in Chemical Sciences” on 17-19/03/2025 (3 Days) in association with the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi and National Academy of Sciences (NASI),Seminar hall-1, Convention center-BSACIST.
The workshop’s main objective was to introduce the recent developments in the frontier areas of chemical sciences by the leading experts from IITM & IISc to the benefit of rural institutions’ participants. The workshop is intended for UG and PG students, research scholars, and faculty members of Chemistry. It provides a common platform to interact with eminent scientists from the reputed research institutions of India. This lecture workshop covered the following areas as Organic & Inorganic Synthesis, Computational Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Catalysis, etc. A sum of 180 delegates attended the workshop, which includes faculty members, research scholars and students from various institutions.
Online workshop on Dashboard Creation for Data Science & Capstone Projects
The Department of Computer Applications, under the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, organized an online workshop titled “Dashboard Creation for Data Science & Capstone Projects” on March 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM through the Microsoft Teams Application.
Mr. Zul Jalil, a renowned international speaker, Founder & CEO, Cybersecurity AI Expert, ACLP Educator, Speaker, and Co-founder & CEO of Qicyber Pte Ltd & 5Cyber Solutions Pte Ltd, Singapore, as the resource person. The workshop was conducted to provide valuable insights to our final-year UG students (BSc. [CS] & BCA [AI, CS, DS, CTIS]).
National Level Technical Symposium “MACRON 2025” – 27th February 2025
Department of Polymer Engineering organized the National Level Technical Symposium, “MACRON 2025” on 27th February 2025. Dr. N. Raja Hussain delivered the presidential address, Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, Dean (School of Mechanical Sciences) and Dr. S. S. M. Abdul Majeed (Director (Admissions)) delivered the felicitation address. Dr. S. Shamshath Begum, Associate Professor and HOD (i/c) welcomed the gathering. The symposium was coordinated by Dr. Basanta Kumar Behera, Assistant Professor (Sr. Gr). Mr. M. Kumar, Managing Director of Shibaura Machine India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, was the chief guest of the National Level Technical Symposium. Student Magazine “POLYLINKS 2k25” was released by the chief guest. He delivered a talk on “Machineries for Plastics Processing”. The symposium was graced by the participation of students and faculty members from esteemed institutions such as Madras Institute of Technology (MIT-Anna University), CIPET, Dhaanish Ahmed Institute of Technology, Agni College of Technology, and more.

Workshop on “Developing Secure Mobile Application Using Flutter”
A One-day workshop on “Developing Secure Mobile Application Using Flutter” was held on 27th February 2025, by the Department of Computer Applications. The workshop was conducted in lab 5 and lab 3 of department of computer applications from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The resource person focused on delivering the various functions using flutter in mobile application development with security.
Nearly 80 students of BCA and MCA has participated in the workshop and gathered knowledge on mobile application development. The feedback about the knowledge of the resource person, delivery of the content, course material shared and answering the questions of the participants are highly appreciated by the participants.
National Level Technical Symposium – CYBERCREST 2K25
The Department of Computer Applications, under the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, organized the National-Level Technical Symposium, Cybercrest 2K25, on February 18, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Auditorium, Convention Centre, Crescent Campus.
The symposium was successfully conducted, bringing together students, academicians, and industry professionals for a day of insightful discussions and competitions. The event was honored by the esteemed presence of Mr. Jubran Siddique, Founder and CEO of Zaryah Investment Company (ZaryahX | Zaryah Angels), as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was honored with a shawl and memento by Dr. N. Raja Hussain, Registrar.
The symposium was attended by 126 external participants from various educational institutions across different states of India. Participants actively took part in competitions such as Paper Presentation, Debugging, Technical Quiz, Adzap, and Gaming.

A, Senior Lecturer at the Fuel Cell Institute, Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia – 12th February 2025. This presentation addressed the critical role of polymers in advancing fuel cell technology and its impact on sustainability in the energy sector.
A Three days Hands-on Training on Synthesis, Characterization and Data Interpretation of Nanomaterial
A Three days Hands-on Training program focused on the synthesis, characterization, and data interpretation of nanomaterial was organised by the Chemistry department during 29th to 31st January 2025 . The main objective of this program is to provide the participants with a comprehensive introduction to the field of nanotechnology and to provide practical experience in synthesizing various types of nanomaterials, including nanoparticles (like CuO, ZnO, Au, Ag, Graphene Oxide) . The participants would also learn how to use a variety of characterization techniques, such as UV- Vis Spectroscopy, FTIR Spectroscopy to analyze the properties of nanomaterials. Finally, participants would develop the skills to interpret and analyze data from characterization experiments, which is essential for understanding the behavior of nanomaterials.
This program was inaugurated by our Pro Vice Chancellor Dr N.Thajuddin with a chief guest Dr. Sudakar Chandran (IIT Madras) . Dr.S.Kutti Rani,Professor and Director(PG Admissions) delivered the welcome address,Dr.N.Hajara Beevi,HOD/Chemistry elaborated about the Chemistry department and its activities, Dr.N.Vasimalai offered the objectives overview of the program,Dr.N.Thajuddin,PRO VC delivered the presidential address,Dr I.Raja Mohammed,Dean(SPCS) offered felicitations, and Dr Tuhin subradas delivered the vote of thanks.

Polymer Engineering Across Borders: A Global Alumni Webinar – Series 1 on “Technologies for Sustainability” by Dr. Mohammed Hussain Abdul Jabbar, Principal Scientist at Nissan Motor Corporation, North America – 27th January 2025. This webinar explored cutting-edge sustainable technologies, with a focus on the role of polymers in direct air capture, direct lithium extraction, battery advancements, and super capacitors.
ATAL FDP on AI in Hydrogen and Electric Powered Vehicle
The FDP on AI in Hydrogen and Electric Powered Vehicle sponsored by AICTE through the ATAL scheme was conducted from 9th to 14th December 2024. An amount of Rs 1 Lakhs was sanctioned for this program. The workshop was organized by the school of Mechanical Sciences. The FDP was conducted in Online Mode. Online sessions were conducted in the evening from 6.00 to 9.00 PM using Zoom platform.
The resource persons identified are experts in the field from eminent institutions inside India like ARCI, CEGRI, IIT, VIT, SRM, and Industries like Ashok Leyland Ltd., Einel Technologies, Bosch and Entuple Technologies. The International experts for the program were from Ulster University, United Kingdom and Lishui University, China.
150 participants from various institution all over India registered for the FDP in the ATAL portal. The FDP was successfully completed by more than 125 participants who attended minimum 80 % of the sessions and score more than 70 % marks in the continuous comprehensive assessment conducted as per AICTE guideline. Ecertificates were issued for these participants through AICTE ATAL portal.
International Conference on “Smart Materials for Green Energy & Environmental Sustainability (SMaGEES 2024)

Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, 2 days International Conference on “Smart Materials for Green Energy & Environmental Sustainability is organized during 11-12 December 2024.The conference was presided by Dr. T. Murugesan, Vice Chancellor, BSACIST and felicitated by Dr. N. Raja Hussain, Registrar, BSACIST. Padma Bhushan Dr. T. Ramasami, Distinguished Professor of Eminence, Anna university, Chennai and former secretary, DST India has Inaugurated the conference and delivered the inaugural address with mentioning the importance of conference theme, materials towards green energy and environmental sustainability.
One-Day National Workshop on “Mastering Composites Technology: Innovations and Applications in Modern Engineering” – 22nd November 2024
The event was organized by the Department of Polymer Engineering. The workshop kicked off with a warm welcome by Dr. S. Shamshath Begum, HoD, followed by the Presidential Address from Dr. N. Thajuddin, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Felicitation by Dr. N. Raja Hussain, Registrar, along with Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, (Professor and Dean (SMS)) and Dr. S. S. M. Abdul Majeed, (Professor and Director Admissions). Dr. Basanta Kumar Behera, was the event coordinator. Mr. K. Jeganathan, Site Director at Ascend Performance Materials, deliver an impactful keynote on “Current Trends and Demands in the Field of Polymers”. The workshop had participants from leading industries and academic institutions, including Bhansali Engineering Polymers, Saint Gobain Research India, CIPET, SSN, SRM, Anna University, University College of Engineering, and many more.

Department of Chemistry organized a Guest Lecture on the topic of ‘The story of Climate change, Hydrogen and Mars landing” by the resource person Dr. Iyappan Arunkumar, Founder & Chairman of AnA startups Korea & India on 19th November 2024, Tuesday from 10.00 am to 11.30 am in CIIC Seminar Hall. The conveners of the Programme is Dr. I. Raja Mohamed, Professor and Dean (SPCS) and Dr. N. Hajarabeevi, Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry. The Coordinator of the programme was Dr. Jasmine Annajothi Jacob, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. In this Guest lecture, M.Sc. Chemistry students and Faculty of Chemistry Department were participated.
Inauguration of Technical Societies: Academic Year 2024-25 (28th OCT 2024)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering boasts four professional societies: the Society of Mechanical Engineers (SME), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the Indian Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering (ISHRAE). These societies organize a variety of events to benefit students. The inauguration ceremony for these societies, marking the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year, took place on October 28, 2024, at Seminar Hall – I in the Convention Center.
Dr. N. Raja Hussain, Registrar of BSAU, presided over the function and released the Department News Bulletin. Dr. A. S. Selvakumar, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, welcomed the gathering, and Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, Dean – School of Mechanical Sciences, offered felicitations. The guest of honor was Dr. Tamil Selvan Natarajan, a renowned Rubber Materials and Compounding Expert and Manager at Apollo Tyres Ltd. In his inaugural address, Dr. Natarajan shared insights into industry expectations for students. He also encouraged the technical society coordinators to organize awareness programs for students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad. The event was well-received by both faculty and students of the department.
Importance of Product Design and Validation for Engineering Graduates (17th OCT 2024)
As part of the Industrial and Institutional knowledge transfer initiative, a guest lecture on “Importance of Product Design and Validation for Engineering Graduates” was organized by the Aerospace Engineering Department / Department of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) SAEINDIA SOUTHERN SECTION MWC DIVISION – BSA Crescent Institute of Science and Technology on 17/10/2024. The presentation was delivered by Mr. P.G. Ramanan, Director, CADDAM Technologies, Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. 130 students from B.Tech First-year Mechanical, Aero, Auto, Poly, and Civil Engineering students have participated and benefitted from this program. The students interacted with the resource person to seek clarification on their inquiries. Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, Dean School of Mechanical Sciences, and Dr. A. S. Selva Kumar, Head of the Department – Mechanical Engineering felicitated the resource person. The guest lecture emphasized the Importance of Product Design and Validation for Engineering Graduates.
Alkemia Association Inagural Lecture
The Alkemia Association Inaugural lecture was held on 7th October 2024. The lecture was delivered by the guest speaker Dr. P. Venkateswaran, Team Member in Sri City Operations, focusing on environmental and sustainability initiatives. His title of the presentation is “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Mitigation: Insights and Case Study from Industrial Zones”
ALTURA – A Tower Building Competition (Technical) & IPL auction (Non-Technical) (4th OCT 2024)
The ASME student Section, Department of Mechanical Engineering, B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai hosted an electrifying ALTURA – A Tower Building Competition & IPL auction, showcasing the ingenuity and talent of young engineers and enthusiasts, held at Mechanical Sciences Block (Seminar hall III floor) on 4.10.2024. The event brought together students from various departments to compete in a thrilling display of technological innovation and racing prowess. The event was inaugurated by our Dr. H Siddhi Jailani/Dean (SMS) and Dr. A.S. Selvakumar/HoD (Mech).
National Level Workshop on “GENERATIVE AI ON AWS” – 26th September 2024
One – Day National Level Workshop, “GENERATIVE AI ON AWS” was held on 26th September, 2024 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The Department of Computer Applications, School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences organized the event.
The Resource person of this workshop was, Mr. Mohamed Iliyas, Founder & CEO, AltSense Pvt ltd, Chennai.
The participants of the workshop were UG students and postgraduate students from various colleges in the State of Tamil Nadu and other States such as Kerala and Karnataka. The workshop was well-received by the audience, and they actively participated by asking questions and clarifying doubts. The speaker encouraged the audience to ask questions and provided detailed answers to each one.


Inauguration of Computer Applications Association and Computer Society of India
The Department of Computer Applications, part of the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, held the inaugural function for Computer Applications Association and Computer Society of India (CAA & CSI) on September 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:20 PM at the Auditorium-Convention Centre, Crescent Campus. The event was convened by Dr. Sharmila Sankar, Dean; Dr. M. Syed Masood, Head of the Department of Computer Applications; and coordinated by Dr. A.K. Asfauk Ahamed and Dr. R. Shanthi.
Dr. E. Iniya Nehru, Deputy Director General of the National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, was the chief guest. Dr. Nehru is a distinguished IT professional with extensive experience in implementing e-Governance projects across various sectors, including land records, registration, transport, PDS, health, and education. He specializes in designing large data centers and has a wealth of experience in establishing high-speed networks, cloud servers, and network security. He has also delivered numerous lectures on e-Governance, Tamil Computing, Networking, IoT, Cloud Computing, and Internet Security.
The function was attended by all faculty members and both undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Computer Applications, who greatly benefited from the event.


One Day Workshop on Aptitude & Mental Ability Training – 3rd September 2024
The Department of Computer Applications, under the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, organized a one-day workshop titled “Aptitude & Mental Ability Training “on September 03, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 4:10 PM at Mechanical Science Block. The workshop featured Dr. G.Shreedevi and Dr.R.Sonia as the resource person.
All the participants actively participated and enjoyed the learning experiences from the speakers. The event emphasized essential problem-solving techniques and efficient mental ability practices to significantly boost their confidence and aptitude skills.


Guest Lecture on “Equipment Selection in HVAC & Career Opportunities in HVAC and MEP Industries”
A guest lecture on “Equipment Selection in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) & Career Opportunities in HVAC and MEP Industries” was organized by ISHRAE – Department of Mechanical Engineering, BSA Crescent Institute of Science and Technology on 30/08/2024. The presentation was delivered by Mr. R. Krishnasamy, Founder – Arostar Private Ltd, Chennai. 93 students from Mechanical Engineering department were participated and benefitted from this program. The students interacted with the resource person to seek clarification on their inquiries.

A Guest Lecture on “Applications of Sensors and Transducers in Industry”
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a guest lecture titled “Applications of Sensors and Transducers in Industry “on 29.08.2024 from 09.50 AM to 11.00 AM at EEE seminar hall. The event aimed to enrich the students about the various types of sensors and design considerations of sensors for bio medical and industry applications.
Dr. R. Jayashree, the proficient Professor and Head of the Department of EEE, delivered a warm and insightful welcome address, setting the tone for the informative session. The guest lecture’s eminent resource person, Dr. K. Baskaran, Chief Manager, SRF Ltd, Chennai shared his knowledge to the 28 pre-final year EEE students (Sensors for Biomedical Applications elective) with the applications of various sensors in industry and biomedical field.


One Day Guest Lecture by Affiliate Professor on “NumPy in Python” – 29th August 2024
The Department of Computer Applications, under the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, organized a One Day Guest Lecture by Affiliate Professor. Dr.Zarah Kodia – Associate Professor from University of Tunis, Tunisia on “NumPy in Python” from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mechanical Block, Crescent Campus.
The Guest Lecture focused on the following key takeaways:
- Understanding the fundamentals of NumPy and its significance
- Using NumPy for Creating One Dimensional Array, 2D Array, 3D Array and Multidimensional Array
- Implementation of Indexing, Slicing, Shape, Reshape, Join and Filter in Array environment

- Discussion on various logical and mathematical capabilities for those arrays such as shape manipulation, sorting, selection in NumPy

Entrepreneurs Summit 2024
The Entrepreneurs Summit 2024 at Department of Commerce, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology brought together industry leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs for an insightful exchange on innovation and business success. Distinguished speakers, including Mr. K.T. Srinivasa Raja (MD, Adyar Ananda Bhavan), Dr. K.S. Kamaludeen (MD, Blue Bharath Exim Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Sultan Refai (Co-Founder, SuperLyfe), and Dr. A. Titus Samuel (MD, Makarios Enterprises), shared their entrepreneurial journeys, inspiring over 600 students. The event fostered creativity, perseverance, and practical business strategies, empowering students to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams.


One Day National Level Workshop on “Automations in IT”
The Department of Computer Applications, under the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences, organized a one-day national-level workshop titled “Automations in IT” on August 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at CIIC Seminar Hall, Crescent Campus. The workshop featured Mr. Neechalkaran S. Raja Raman, Technology Lead at Infosys, Chennai, as the resource person. The event was coordinated by faculty members Dr. R. Shanthi, Mrs. S. Sabaria, and Dr. M. Deepika.
The workshop was attended by 177 students, including 65 external participants and 112 internal participants, from various undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines across different states of India.

The Department of Information Technology organized a hands-on workshop on “DEVELOPING A WEBSITE USING HTML, CSS AND JS” on 27th August 2024 from 1.45 pm to 4.00 pm for the benefit of 2nd year B. This hands-on workshop guided the students through the process of developing interactive websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, supported by Visual Studio Code.


Guest Lecture on Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Analysis

A guest lecture on the topic “Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Analysis” was organized for final year B.Tech (EEE) students on 23rd August, 2024 by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm at Seminar Hall, EEE Department. Dr. Jeyakumar Vijay, Associate Professor, Department of Bio-Medical Engineering, SSN, Chennai served as the guest speaker for the event. The event commenced at 11.00 AM with an introduction to the theme of the lecture, providing insights into the fundamental principles of biomedical instrumentation and the analysis of biomedical signals, highlighting their importance in the field of healthcare technology. Dr. Divya Vijay delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of bio medical instrumentation in the field of medical devices and signal processing techniques and introducing the esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Jeyakumar Vijay.
Dr. Jeyakumar Vijay structured his lecture into several key sections:
a) Introduction to Biomedical Instrumentation, b) Basic Principles of Biomedical Instruments, c) Overview of Biomedical Signals, d) Signal Acquisition and Processing, e) Signal Analysis and Interpretation, f) Case Studies and Applications
Dr. R.Durga Devi delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Dr. Jeyakumar Vijay for his enlightening lecture and thanking all the attendees for their participation.The guest lecture was a significant success, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the role of biomedical instrumentation in the field of engineering and the future prospects of the healthcare system. The event concluded at 12.30 PM, with participants feeling inspired and more knowledgeable about the field of biomedical instrumentation. Dr. Divya Vijay and Dr. R. One Day National level Workshop on “Taming the dust: Minimizing Brake Particulate Matter Emission”
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized one day National level workshop on “Taming the dust: Minimizing brake particulate matter emission” held on 22.08.2024 at B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, in Association with SAE Southern section Mahindra Worldcity division. Total 54 participants registered for this workshop including participants from industries, academicians, research scholars and students.
The seminar began with the recitation of Qirath. The Department Head, Dr. A.S.Selvakumar, warmly welcomed the attendees. Our esteemed Vice Chancellor, T.Murugesan, delivered the presidential address. Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, Dean (SMS), offered his felicitations afterward. This was followed by the inaugural address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Prakash Anantha Raman (Vice President – R&D, RNTBC). One of the event coordinator, Dr.M.A.Sai Balaji, proposed the vote of thanks to the attendees.
Guest Lecture on “Electrical Machines”
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BSACIST organized a guest lecture on the topic of “Electrical Machines” on 19th August 2024. The event was part of the ongoing efforts by the department to provide students with insights into advanced topics in their field of study, delivered by industry experts.
Dr. Ahamed Bilal Asaf Ali, an expert in Electrical Machines and E-Drives from Bucher Hydraulics, Switzerland, was invited as the guest speaker. The lecture was held in Seminar Hall – I at the Convention Centre of BSACIST and saw active participation from students OF 2nd year, 3rd year and final year B.Tech. EEE and faculty members. Dr. S Jennathu Beevi, Associate Professor, introduced the guest speaker. Dr R Jayashree, Prof. & HoD / EEE welcomed the speaker with a memento.


Guest Lecture On “ANN based Transmission Loss Allocation In Restructure based Power Systems”
On the 14th of August 2024, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department at BSACIST hosted a highly insightful guest lecture on the topic “ANN Based Transmission Loss Allocation in Restructure Based Power Systems.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. S. Arunachalam, a distinguished lecturer from the University of Salford, Greater Manchester, UK. The session began with an introduction of the speaker by Dr. R Jayashree, Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) of EEE, who highlighted Dr. Arunachalam’s extensive experience and contributions to the field of power systems. The participants were the students who have enrolled in the Elective course EEDX51 Artificial Intelligence for Electrical Engineers from B.Tech and M.Tech Power Systems Engineering students who have enrolled in EEEY001 Restructured Power Systems course.

On the 13th of August 2024, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department at BSACIST conducted a guest lecture on the topic “ The era of CMOS from micro – to – nanoelectronics for the benefits of third year EEE students The lecture was delivered by, Dr. Kumar Prasannajit Pradhan, Assistant Professor, an eminent professor, from IIITDM. The session began with an introduction of the speaker by Dr. R Jayashree, Professor and Head of the Department (HOD) of EEE, who highlighted Dr. Kumar Prasannajit Pradhan’s experience and achievements in the field of VLSI design.
The participants were the students who have enrolled in the course EED 3104 – VLSI Design.

A Workshop on “Web Applications Security & OWASP Latest Vulnerabilities” was held on 13th August, 2024, during from 1.30 am to 3.30 pm. The Department of Computer Applications, School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences organized the event. The Resource person of this workshop was, Mr.Gowtham Raj, Network India Private Limted. The workshop was attended by UG Third year B.Sc students and faculty members of the department.

A seminar on “The Metaverse: Driving Industry Transformation and Shaping the Future of Work” was held on August 9, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The event was organized by the Department of Computer Applications, School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences. The resource person for this seminar was Mr. Nirmal Jeyavelraj, Founder of Wizardlenz XR Studio. The event was coordinated by faculty members Dr. R. Shanthi, Mrs. S. Sabaria, and Dr. M. Deepika. The seminar was attended by all third-year undergraduate BCA and B.Sc students.


3 days’ National level workshop on “Industry 4.0 – Industrial Design, Visualization & Conceptualization” (07.08.2024 to 09.08.2024)
The industry 4.0 – Industrial Design Visualisation & Conceptualisation” workshop was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering along with MSME (Govt of India) and Equad Engg services Pvt ltd. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. H. Siddhi Jailani, Dean – School of Mechanical Science and A. S. Selva Kumar, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering. Around 25 students from Mechanical Engg, BSAR Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, 8 students from SASTRA Deemed University, Agni College of Technology and SSN College of Engineering participated in the workshop.


Guest Lecture on the topic of Business Intelligence for Decision Making (29.07.2024)
Dept of Commerce organize a guest lecture on the topic of Business Intelligence for Decision Making. It was delivered by Dr. Vijayan Sugumaran, a distinguished Professor of Management Information Systems from Oakland University, USA. The lecture was attended by 70 scholars, students, and faculty members, marking a successful event filled with insightful discussions and learning.
Industrial Visit to Retech Lasers
The Industrial Visit to Retech Lasers on 25.07.2024 started around 10 am. 153 Students of III year, BCA (CTIS), B.Sc (Computer Science), and II year BCA (AI) accompanied with Staff In-charges, Dr.N.Parvin, Dr.I.Parvin Begum E.Manogar, Dr.S.Jeevitha reached Retech Lasers at Varadharajapuram, Chennai around 10.30 am. We had a warm welcome and a great dialogue about the company and its process. Basically this is one of prominent startups, and specializes in the manufacturing of cutting-edge machinery powered by laser technology as well this company actively involved in the concurrent design and development of software Plotspot which is incorporate with programming language C & C++ with Python. Professionals from Retech Lasers addressed the students.

The first year BCA-BSC–CS Orientation Programme was held on 24th July 2024, during 2.00 pm to 4.10 pm. The orientation session was organised by the Department of Computer Applications at the School of Computer, Information, and Mathematical Sciences.

Workshop on Hands-on Training on Instrumentation with Interpretation
The Hands-on Training on Instrumentation with Interpretation (03.07.2024 – 05.07.2024) commenced with an inauguration starting with a welcome address by Dr. N. Hajarabeevi, Head of the Department and Professor of Chemistry, who warmly greeted the participants and dignitaries. Following this, Dr. Revathi Purushothaman, Professor of Chemistry provided an overview of the program, highlighting its objectives, key topics, and the significance of hands-on training in analytical instrumentation. She emphasized the importance of practical exposure to advanced techniques in scientific research and industrial applications. Dr. S. Kutti Rani, Professor of Chemistry and Director of PG Admissions felicitated and Dr. I. Raja Mohamed, Professor of Physics and Dean, SPCS, delivered the Presidential Address.
