National Science Day – 21st February 2020
“Science of Today is the Technology of Tomorrow”
National Science Day was celebrated by the School of Physical and Chemical Science on 21st February 2020.
This day commemorates the discovery of the “Raman Effect” by Sir C.V. Raman.
The Chief Guest, Professor V. Subramanian from IIT Madras, delivered a lecture on
“Nanomaterials for Electromagnetic Application”. He introduced Raman Effect and discussed various topics including photonic crystals,
Maxwell’s equations, microwave microscopy, EMI shielding, and electromagnetic threats.
The event was attended by faculty, PG students, and research scholars from the Physics and Chemistry departments.
