Overview:
Crescent Cybertronics Security Club (CCSC) empowers students with essential Cybersecurity skills. CCSC offers free access to comprehensive resources including Web Security, Ethical Hacking, Mobile Hacking, IoT Hacking, Malware Analysis and much more. Members gain insights into cyber laws and forensics, corporate security techniques, and will gain experience in CTFs, a hackers’ competition. Addressing the surging demand for Cybersecurity experts, the club prepares students for a rapidly growing field where unfilled global Cybersecurity positions surged by 350% from 2013 to 2023, reaching 3.5 million (Cybersecurity Ventures).

Objectives of the Club:
- Skill Enhancement: Provide students with in-depth understanding of Web security, Ethical hacking, OSINT, and Malware Analysis.
- Awareness of Cyber Laws: Educate members about legal and ethical aspects of Cybersecurity, ensuring responsible digital practices.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Equip students with hands-on experience in identifying vulnerabilities and conducting comprehensive assessments.
- Penetration Testing Proficiency: Develop members’ expertise in Penetration Testing techniques for robust defense strategies.
- Participating VRPs and Bug Bounties: Train students to participate in Vulnerability Reward Programs, and bug bounty cultivating their ability to secure digital systems.
- Community Engagement: Foster a collaborative environment where students can exchange insights, share resources, and learn from peers.
- Industry Alignment: Bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs by providing practical, industry-relevant skills.

Crescent Cybertronics Security Club (CCSC) serves as a responsive solution for the university’s technical requirements. Hosting inclusive events, including those for school children, will provide a glimpse into university life. Valuable insights shared by industry experts on social media platforms will extend its influence.
Students will actualize their aspirations for learning, earning, and skill development. The chapter is committed to orchestrating internships and hands-on industry exposure, giving students a firsthand experience of the university’s excellence.

Cyber Security Awareness Programme
October Month is Cyber security Awareness Month, an international initiative that educates everyone about online safety and empowers individuals and businesses to protect their data from Cyber Crime.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with Crescent Cybertronics Security Club (CCSC) have organized Cyber Security Awareness Programme for students (BSA Crescent Institute of Science & Technology Students across various branches) on October 29, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:50 P.M. at the auditorium.
The primary aim of this program is to educate them about cybercrime and how to protect themselves. Some objectives of a cyber security awareness program include:
- Raising awareness: Students should learn about the different types of cybercrime, such as phishing, identity theft, and online fraud.
- Teaching protection methods: Students should learn how to protect themselves from cybercrime.
- Promoting responsible behavior: Students should learn to be ethical and responsible in the digital space.
- Teaching password management: Students should learn how to create strong passwords and best practices for password management.
- Identifying risks: Students should learn who is at risk from cyber threats.
- Explaining safeguarding measures: Students should learn about measures to safeguard themselves from cyber threats.
- 550+ students have attended the Cyber Security Awareness Programme.
Five Days Bootcamp on Cybersecurity
We would like to inform that we have successfully completed a 5-Days Cyber security Bootcamp organized by the Crescent Cybertronics Security Club (CCSC), BSA Crescent Institute of Science & Technology,Chennai and Sponsored by TELFI (Tech – Leaders forum of India).
We have conducted sessions through virtual mode daily at 7pm IST from 21st October, 2024 (Monday) to 25th October, 2024 (Friday)
Agenda of the Bootcamp:
Day 1: Web Application Pentesting
Day 2: Digital Forensics
Day 3: Red Team Engagement
Day 4: SIEM Simplified and understanding Splunk’s role in Cyber Security
Day 5: OSINT and Phishing
Eligibility Criteria for E-Certificates:
- Attend at least 4 out of the 5 bootcamp sessions.
- Achieve at least 75% in the final quiz.
Important Instructions:
- Feedback forms are shared during the meetings to track your attendance.
- On Saturday, October 26, 2024, the quiz link was shared within the deadline to qualify for certification.
Totally 130 students have Registered from various Institutions.
