B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology (BSACIST) shows a strong dedication to research that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through its CGOM R&D Center, the institute embeds sustainability into its teaching, day-to-day operations, and research activities—helping to advance both national and global sustainability priorities. This report reviews BSACIST’s research contributions to priority SDGs, with a focus on its interdisciplinary strategy, institutional sustainability policies, and tangible outcomes.

Since its establishment in 1984, BSACIST has grown into a well-respected Quality Leadership Institution located in one of the greenest areas of Chennai.

A major development in this journey is the Crescent Global Outreach Mission (Research & Development) launched in 2023. This initiative takes BSACIST’s advanced research and innovations to an international platform. It focuses on breakthroughs in Materials Science, Biotechnology, Energy and Battery technologies, and Medical & Biomedical research. The mission aims to build partnerships with global research organizations, industries, and government bodies to tackle worldwide challenges in healthcare, sustainable technologies, and scientific advancement. By strengthening medical and biomedical research, the mission supports better treatment options, improved healthcare results, and enhanced well-being for communities globally.
