Biographical Note

Krishnamurthy Prabhakar is Professor of Management at SRM University. Graduated from Madras University in Science with first class and specialized in operations management in Master of Business Administration with distinction. Doctoral thesis work is on social forecasting from Aligarh Muslim University and trained at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He has authored books on management discipline in the fields of Software Marketing, Strategic Issues in Software Marketing published by Pondicherry University and Hospital Management by Annamalai University for distance training. He is a member of the board of studies for Pondicherry University, Annamalai University and resource person for academic staff colleges of Madras University, Alagappa University and Pondicherry University. He is a Shell scholar for corporate governance and participated in an international conference on corporate governance (2003) on invitation from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines with a scholarship. He is also a recipient of prestigious scholarship to attend an advanced research fellowship at University of Padova, Italy. Selected as speaker (2012) at Globethics.net on Ethics at Geneva. Oxford University, Human Development and Capability Association provided a scholarship (2012) to study Multidimensional Poverty Index in Jakarta. Institute for Studies on Economics and Employment awarded scholarship (2014) to attend summer school conducted by three Nobel Laureates and had the privilege of being a student of Professor James Mirrlees, Robert Angel and Michael Spence. Presented research findings at Summer School of University of Passau, Germany on “The Economics of Corruption: Seeking Nudges for Reforms” (2014) with scholarship on governance for effectively meeting corruption in the truck industry in India. Research supervisor Deakin University, Australia in the areas of Strategic Management, Operations Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. Member of the board of studies (2014-2015) of the Centre for Social Initiative and Management, a pioneer in promoting social entrepreneurship in India. Doctoral committee member (Expert) at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
