This institution encourages undertaking of Collaborative research projects with established Universities in India and abroad and reputed Industries. More than 20 MoUs have been entered into with R&D organizations, Universities and industrial undertakings. Among many aspects of MoU, a significant aspect is undertaking of joint research projects. We also encourage visit of faculty from foreign universities and our faculty members visiting foreign universities to explore the possibility of the undertaking joint projects.
Currently two collaborative programmes are in progress with foreign universities and one with the industry. Dr. R. Raja Prabu, Professor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department is doing a project in collaboration with Dr. Rajeswari Sundararajan, Professor of Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of Purdue University, USA . The project title is “Cancer treatment using High Voltage Electric Pulses ”. Initial work have been completed establishing feasibility and further work to be continued. We are looking for funding support.
Dr. K.M. Abubacker, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department is collaborating with System Science & Industrial Engineering Department of Binghamton University, New York on “Heat Transport Study of Electronics Packaged Items”.
Dr. R. Rajendran, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department is doing a collaborative project with I.P. Rings Limited, Maraimalai Nagar to develop surface coating system on low cost steel ring to be used for piston rings. This will be on “Alternative approach to use imported coils for making piston rings”. The departments are engaged in collaborative research with organizations including both academic and industry.
